Keep reading below to discover some of our most popular mounting types.

Single Mat to Print

A single matted board is placed directly over the edge of the print. A few millimeters of the print will be lost around each edge. The print can be heat-pressed to an acid free board, or, in cases of valuable art and signed limited editions, the print can be hinged in place to the back of the matboard using acid free tape.

Double Mat to Print

Two mat boards are overlayed ontop of each other creating a stepped border and are placed directly over the edge of the print. A few millimeters of the print will be lost around each edge. The print can be heat-pressed to an acid free board, or, in cases of valuable art and signed limited editions, the print can be hinged in place to the back of the matboard using acid free tape.

Triple Mat with Fillet to Print

A triple matted board is placed directly over the edge of the print, a variety of colour combinations can be used, a metallic fillet trim is inserted between the matboards for extra class. A few millimeters of the print will be lost around each edge. The print can be heat-pressed to an acid free board, or, in cases of valuable art and signed limited editions, the print can be hinged in place to the back of the matboard using acid free tape.

Double Mat Double Spaced Pastel Gutter Mount

Mat boards are spaced off of each other and the pastel artwork, creating a gutter into which excess pastel dust can fall. A few millimeters of the artwork will be lost around each edge. Pastels are hinged in place to the back of the matboard using acid free tape.

Shadow Box with a raised Mat and a float mounted Stretched Canvas

A box is created that is spaced away from the artwork. The box walls are covered in matching matboards. The artwork can be adhered to the bottom panel of the box, or it can be floated in the centre of the bottom panel.

Decorative, Creative, Ornamental Matting

Matboards can be cut into a variety of patterns, title boxes, stepped corners and flourishes. A few millimeters of the artwork will be lost around each edge where the matboard crosses over the print.

Beveled Back Float Mount in a Shadow Box.

The artwork print is adhered to a light weight black or white foam board after which the edges are beveled back underneath to give a floating appearance. The complete artwork is visible and is then float mounted into a shadow box with or without a matboard. Featured to the right is a Black, bevel mounted, print floated in a black shadow box with a raised black mat / black core matboard.
